Pop Up Business Café on Thursday 18th May at the Royal Oak
This is not our event but North Craven Networking Group is working closely with the Local Enterprise Partnership and How's Business to promote workshops and other events aimed at the local business community.
Have you ever wished that you had all the answers to your business questions in one place?
Well that's what a Free Pop up Business Cafe is. How’s Business are part of York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and organise many of these around the county and have lots of useful business info and events on their website at http://www.howsbusiness.org/
We will have local experts waiting to give practical answers to your questions on a range of business topics. Totally informal, turn up when you like, leave when you like, come back again when you feel like it. It's a cafe, not a conference.
Please book through Eventbrite if you want to attend https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/settle-popup-business-advice-cafe-tickets-31925555195
North Craven Networking Group will also be having an informal networking mingle between 12-2 alongside the pop up cafe.
Family History drop-in with Alex Dewar
Thursday 25th May 3-6pm
An informal drop-in session for those interested in finding out about family history. Alex will also be able to show people how to use Ancestry.com and Find My Past which can be accessed free in all libraries in North Yorkshire. No need to book. No charge for this event but donations to the hub would be appreciated.
Settle Stories Festival of Happiness Saturday 27th May all day at various venues
We are involved in various events as part of the Festival of Happiness on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. Jo will be talking about Settle Timebank 'A Different Kind of Currency', Sylvia is talking about the Craven Mental Health Forum in 'A Voice for Mental Health' , both in the Quaker Meeting House. In February and March we hosted an animation course at the hub with Virpi of Kettu Studios. Two groups created animated films during the course and there is gala premiere (with popcorn!) of these films at Victoria Hall.

Simon Rogers from Dales Radio will be broadcasting live from the hub during the day and you may also spot several new roving reporters out and about interviewing people during the festival.
