Every year in May, Dying Matters host an Awareness Week, which gives us an unparalleled opportunity to place the importance of talking about dying, death and bereavement firmly on the national agenda.
This year, we aim to get people more active in planning for dying and death and helping support those who may need it in times of grief and bereavement, be they friends, family or in your wider community. More info on the Dying Matters website http://www.dyingmatters.org
Katie Shepherd has done some Creative Dying workshops at the Settle Community and Business Hub talking about these topics and she will be at the hub on Sunday 14th May between 10am and 2pm for anyone wanting to explore the subject. For those of you who have already attended Katie’s workshop, this is a chance to come together to discuss and share your own ideas and plans.
We will also have some information about Dying Matters Week during our drop ins at the hub on Tuesday 9th and Friday 12th May.
