In February and March two groups spent their Thursdays learning about animation from Virpi of Kettu Studios as part of a Settle Stories project. Everyone is making a short film which will be shown at a gala premiere at Victoria Hall during Settle Stories Festival of Happiness on 27th May.
Virpi is a hugely experienced animator and has worked for Aardman on Wallace and Gromit and created many adverts and music videos including Radiohead's recent song 'Burn the Witch'.
The variety of stories and types of animation is amazing. Some are making films with plasticine, others line drawings, shadow puppets, soft toys and one even features a lollipop stick person.. so we are really looking forward to seeing what creations they come up with.
As a little taster... here is Jo's very first attempt which Virpi called 'Slinky Nightmare'!
